Looks like a firmware issue. Your drive is a BTC 1008 with the current firmware of 0054,so it's pretty old. According to the following link, the latest firmware version is 0060. You may consider updating to that newer version:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1727

These firmware updates are needed to help recognize the newer/faster speed rated media, and to properly burn them.

Moser bauer +8x. Not exactly quality stuff. The backup target is small, and burn speed is only 4x. It should be ok at those settings.

I wouldn't burn at 8x or at a backup target of over 4300 mbs.

Classic sign of failure during the lead-in phase-firmware issue. There should be no actual burn on those blanks. No burn, then those blanks should still be ok. Firmware update should take care of that issue.

bigdaddyo: Look on the back of those failed backups for any discolored rings. There shouldn't be any on it.

Nero API version: 6.3.1.17
That's an older version, but I've used versions of 6.0.0.21b,6.3??,and 6.6.0.14- All ok as long as INCD isn't dowloaded.

If the firmware update doesn't help, then uninstall Nero-using Nero cleantool6.Then reload Nero back onto your pc. Nerocleantool 6 completely rids all remnants of Nero off your harddrive.

@bigdaddyo, You took your S/N from the 2nd. log you posted, but you need to edit the S/N from the 1st. log you posted. Some one may steal your S/N. later

bigdaddyo,
I see you are running a buggy version of Nero. Below is a site for Nero Cleantools and verions 7.0.8.2 of Nero. Do not update any further up the chain as this was the last stable version of Nero. D/L the Cleantools and then uninstall Nero via Windows. The run Cleantools and after running it re-boot and install the version below. Remeber to keep your serial Number as it will be deleted usig Cleantools. Also use the EDIT feature in your 1st post and edit out your serial number. I already have enough serial numbers but a crack site could get it and then Nero could disable the serial number from working as it being used by people that did not pay for it.

Could you also try a little better brand of Blank media like Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden as the MB's you are using are really lower quality.

Have you updated the firmware yet?

Install version 7.0.8.2 from here:
