Been making DVD movie copy for some time now
mostly older movies using 321 Studio DVD XCopy

Newer movies have a 'Play' option which I cant get to
to enable copy ...

Is there a way to fix this? Or do I need a newer version
for copying newer movies ...

What software would you 'recommend'?

My old software recommends

1Click DVD Copy
DVD XCOPY PLATINUM 'superpack'

What should I do - to copy newer movies ...

Some many videos, so little time.

Pay program,
AnyDVD, CloneDVD, very simple, fast, best pay programs out there.
http://www.slysoft.com

The free way, takes more steps, but has never failed me yet

1. DVDFab decrypter(Free) to rip the movie to the HDD
http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

2. VOBblanker(Free) (Not always needed) to clean and fix the movie
http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

here is a guide for VobBlanker
http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/article_vobblanker_page1.html

3. DVD shrink(free) to make it fit on a SL(4.7G) disk

4.Burn with whatever program u want (free way, ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter)

Perfect 100% backup of any Movie Guaranteed, OF COURSE with QUALITY MEDIA

OR another freeway, kind of a 1 click program

I would suggest using 1 of the below programs.

AnyDVD: Pay (you can try it for free) - For circumventing the copy protection. Run this program in the background when using 1 of the below transcoders.

http://www.slysoft.com

Use 1 of these transcoders...

DVDShrink: Free

CloneDVD2: Pay (you can try it for free)
http://www.slysoft.com

Nero Recode2: (Offered with the Ultra version of Nero)

OK - need a little more help here.

My old program works to copy an old movie. (DVD X Copy by 123 Studios)

I have Nero 6.3.1.12 it works (old movies)

I have downloaded 3 new programs (free)

RIPIT4ME
DVD Shrink
DVD Decrypter
FIX VTS

I cant seem to figure out whats going on

What STEPS I need to take, and in what order

I used Decrypter on a NEWER movie with Copy Protection
and it seemed to decrpypt fine

files went to C:\MovieName\VIDEO_TS
about 20+ files that end with .vob .ifo .bup .pls

what are these files and what steps to i take to burn to CD

my old program was 1 click and i didnt really see the files
so this is kinda new to me

1.) What steps to I take - what 'programs' do I use and in what order

*Trying to copy the 'newer' copyprotected movies (ie Disney etc)

any suggestions

are these programs OK or should I look for something else

Does any ONE program 'do it all' like my old one did.

Some many videos, so little time.

Below is a link to a guide done by bbmayo on how to do your movie with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. You will need a PDF Reader (Adobe Acrobat) to view the guide.
