After i burned the image onto my computer (with dvd encrypter), when i go to burn it onto my cd and i select the image i get an error message that says "invalid or unsupported image file" and i'm unable to select it to burn onto my cd.

i have an older system: dell 700cx with a new burner: NEC 3550a
my first time burning. i HAVE been able to burn when i've put the file on my external HD and then burned from there, but that's taking way too long (5+ hrs) so i'm trying to do it all on my computer now.
running windows xp pro
any ideas? tia

That is not an image file. Use DVD Shrink to create an ISO file. That's the file to burn. Instead of using DVD Decrypter to burn, you should use ImgBurn. It has an updated burning engine and supports the newest burners.

ImgBurn looks and acts just like DVD Decrypter. The ISO file you once created, you were in ISO Read mode. This last time you were in File mode.

went through the guide. successfully did what they said, but now i don't know how to use imgburn.
i use this guide for dvd decrypter:

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup%20with%20Decrypter&Shrink.pdf

this is not the same set up as imgburn however, so i'm a bit lost. anything like this around? otherwise, i'm not sure what to do.

on a side note, when i am in dvddecrypter (can't figure it out in imgburn) when i go to burn an image they are only in .IFO, no .ISO.

Even when I first go to Mode, then Read, then File F it shows up as .iFO.

any ideas what im doing wrong? tia.

You can use DVD Fab Decrypter it does the same thing as DVD Decrypter except it does not burn image files. Also DVD Fab is updated all the time.

well how do i go about getting the image from the original dvd to my computer (that's called burning an image, right?) i need to make that happen first before i can get it on to the disk. (at least that's the way i understand it)

or even if any one wanted to tell me how to get my image from the original dvd to my computer in imgburn that's fine too. i'm just getting stuck there at the moment.

thanks.

Change the mode in DVD Decrypter from file to iso and burn the image to disc that way.

borhan9, i appreciate your continued help.

i tried it again, but it didn't work. i'm in iso write, but when i click on source to choose my files, my only options are .ifo and .vob files. originally, it says "all supported files" and nothing shows up. then when i click on "all files", i get the .ifo and .vob files, but no .iso files.

something is not quite right here, but i am in iso write mode.
