After opening up my ps2 to block the sensors, i closed it up, but only the standby light came on and the power button was stuck when i tried to turn it on. So I opened up again only to find out the little white button-thing came off the chip where the power button is. I really have no idea what to do to put it back on without ruining the chip, but I can clearly tell it needs to go there because of the 4-gray corners which line up on the chip. plz help. Here's a pic of what came off.

This same exact thing happened to me, you can buy another power/reset button for a cheap price from somewhere like richspsxparts.com.

Just a minute ago, i tried to stick it back in place, it stayed and i closed the cover and turned it on, it worked for a sec, then it fell off and it turned red again. any way i should stick it back (ie. glue, c.cement) b/c I dought i can buy a replacement button for 25US bucks.

Are there metal contacts on the back of the button? if so I guess you could just try putting super glue on the one side except for the contact points and align it with those points and the glue might be able to hold the contacts together. Or, of course, if you have one, you could solder the points back together and it'll hold.
