I have been trying to decrypt Larry the Cable Guy: Health Ispector. I used DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background. It came up with an error. I then tried Ripitforme. That to came up with an error saying it needed the decryption key. The last thing I have tried is DVDFab Decrypter with AnyDVD on. This is not working either. Does anyone have a suggestion?

can you post the AnyDVD information window for this disc? just right click the little red FOX icon and go to SETTINGS, then cut and paste what it says in that window. this will help us identify what is going on with that disc.
thank you.

several things. do you have DVD Decrypter set to accomodate AnyDVD? wondering if you disabled AnyDVD when running either dvdfabdecrypter or ripit4me. you need to do that as those programs are incompatible. i had no problem with this dvd using fab -> VOB blanker -> shrink.

Well I believe I have DVD Decrypter set to accomodate AnyDVD I have never had a problem in the past. I did however not turn off the AnyDVD to use DVDFab so I am going to try that

I tried DVDFab with AnyDVD disabled. It gets to VTS file 5 and then the progress stops. The DVD drive also starts making a lot mor noise at this point.

I use Decrypter regularily, and I have AnyDVD. How does one set decrypter to "accomodate" AnyDVD?
I guess I never heard of doing that, and I have had very few problems with discs....

i'm sorry to hear you are still having problems backing up this disk. as you can see from the dvd devrypter info file, it doesn't really have any special encryption or authoring issues to circumvent.
dvddecrypter has the option to work more smoothly with AnyDVD (perhaps i ought to have written "configure for" rather than "accomodate"):
"tools" menu -> settings -> I/O -> interface -> select "ElbyCDIO-Elaborate Bytes".
that might help, but it might not be the source of your particular problem, which is indicated to be something else due to dvdfabdecrypter not working as well.
i assume you have the latest version of dvdfabdecrypter (2.9.8.3 i believe)...
my only other suggestion would be to try ripit4me. if it doesn't work then, you may have a defective disk. hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in with something helpful for you.
@cp1966
see the above. i guess there are some circumstances (so i've read) where having DVD Decrypter configured specifically for AnyDVD (as per above) will yield better results. if you don't have any problems with it as it is, then don't even bother to change the settings. i.e. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

this is how you setup DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD
To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated per Olli ->OF SLYSOFT AND CloneDVD
Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings
I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"
General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"
cheers
bkinley ,using CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD is your best bet, use this guide.

also make sure your have the latest firmware for your drive/burner and use good blank media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim burning at 8x max. on a clean machine without other programs running while your transcoding/burning

@ bkinley,
Im with tjedwards sounds like a bad press, have u tried cleaning the disk then ripping?
When u get the error using DVD Decrypter is it an I/O error?
u said dvdfab stopped at VTS_5, does it have the error on DVD Decrypter at VTS_5 too?
As surfgeo said there isn't really any tough protection on it so i dont think the protection is causing the error

I agree with 300Bowler. Make sure the disc is clean and not damaged. This is not a hard back up. Since nothing is working, the disc has to be defective or dirty.

Thanks for all the help. Every program I tried stop at file 5. I returned the disc and got a new one which worked fine. Guess I just had a bad DVD.

cool. glad you finally got a good backup! (having a functional original disk helps a lot!) i hope you consider, at least to some degree, all the time spent learning about backing-up methods (and problems) to be useful. i'm sure some of the knowledge will come in handy at some point in the future.
