I have had trouble lately making back ups of newer sony movies, such as Ultraviolet, Memoirs of a Geisha etc. I am using Nero OEM suite 3,w/ Nero express 6.6, incd 4 etc. I have made many back-ups utilizing DVD Shrink, and other freeware such as Dvddecryptor, and VOB Blanker 2100, then sony released arcoss encryption. About a month went by, a frustrating month when no Sony products newly released could be backed up by me, then someone released Dvd Fab Decryptor, ahh the solution to my problem....things were great again, for about 6 months, then Sony released Arcoss2, and once again I find myself in frustrationville. People have suggested AnyDVD, and even fixVTS, however these have not worked for me, the message I keep getting is content out of range, full scan requested when running VOB, full scan produces nothing different than normal running of VOB, DvdFabDecryptor acts like it gets it all, but when I submit it to shrink I find that it has only processed and released everything but the main movie into shrink recognizable format, now I hear there may be a new download I can get to bypass arcoss2, just like with Arcoss1 using DvdFabDecryptor before.......is this true? What is the name of this software and where do I get it if it exists......please someone help......lol
There's nothing out there of recent time that AnyDVD can't handle. You will need the latest version. If you have not purchased it do so and you can leave frustrationville behind as you put it. I'm not selling you this product I'm telling you it's the absolute best at what it does. I back up any and all of my movies with AnyDVD running the backround and Nero 7 Recode2 (That's it) in most cases. I also own CloneDVD and VOB Blanker. I also have a fast PC 3.2 w/HT Pentium 4/200 gig HD 1GIG of ram. You don't need a PC of this speed but get all the memory your PC is capable of having and sizeable HD. I use the very best in media which may not be your problem, Verbatim 8x & 16x along with SONY 8x media. This is the most reliable store bought media on the market in the USA. Using the freeware as I have and sometimes still do has it's down sides as you are left chasing the latest and greatest software and tip conversation for assistance. This all takes time from other things you could be doing. Slysoft does this for its software users. You just update if needed and move on to your next project. Keep it simple, own AnyDVD.
AnyDVD has no problems with any movie as of late. Please provide the name of the title your refer to (PROOF). Inside Man is probably the most complicated title out. I backed up this movie to Verabatim DL +R using AnyDVD in the backround and Nero 7 Recode2 1st time perfect burn and never a coaster that I can't attribute to user error. This 1 step simple process using two means of software. It gets no easier than that. Again, I'm not knocking freeware. It's just little time consuming particularly if you have the option of AnyDVD and it's free right to your PC updates. The mere preference of using this software (AnyDVD)can sometime ruffle feathers of some but it's just my preference. Notice I put down no ones preference. I think the word "easy" gets to some. I keep VOB Blanker as a back up as well as SHRINK. I also own CloneDVD2 which goes a step further than Nero with compressing a large dual layer title to a 4.7GB DVD disc.:P Hey, It's your choice.
