I will be lucky if I can even post this. For the past 3 days, whenever I come to AfterDawn, I will read a few messages, maybe even post one or two, but after being here more than 1 minute, if I click on a post, or on any link that someone has, in their post, I crash out of IE.

It does not happen at any other site that I visit. Strangest thing I have seen, but I am glad that I don't frequent AD much anymore, or I would be one ticked off old man. :)

Bruce have you checked for viruses and spyware after you vist here?

spysweeper should protect your IE download it and see if that helps.

my honest suggestion is not to use IE. Due to the sheer amount of IE sessions i always open (and never close) IE always hung on every single computer i use, then i went to Firefox and haven't looked back since.
I use Firefox on all my various Linux boxes too, without incident

I do use SpySweeper. IMHO, it is the only program to use. I will be doing a long overdue format c:/ pretty quick, so I may go to Firefox.

Bruce you can run both IE and Firefox

yeah a guy should reformat at least once a year . how long has it been. you might run spysweeper in safemode also. a couple other goods ones to have on your machine are the Trend Mirco Anti-Spyware(great program) and Ewido . SimthfraudFix is a good tool too

yeah a guy should reformat at least once a year

think about this
if that was so,how come i still have my original operating system since 2002? using windows 2000..and i use it every day..and i do use spysweeper..and i do not let it start with windows..its only started at night when i run it....also i never had a virus except i got a KEYLOGON when i installed a software program i bought at best buy..

i never serf the net with IE,it was netscape then Firefox with cookies off..

alo its true you do have to refresh xp once a year,to me its not as stable as win 2000....

and you must have a very good firewall,i been using norton..since 2002..

heres a trick i found out years ago,its a very good registry back up program, called erunt...as i back up my registry every night..

go here to read all about it
http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

and read this
http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/erunt.txt

Burce, yeah after a year or so windows XP just gets bloated and then weird things start happening. next reformat add some of the programs mentioned here and that should help . what are you using for a virus scan program? "Trend Mirco PC-cillin Internet Security 2006" and "NOD32" are the best two out there
