Using the Halo Screencapture Package
By: ll FuZ3 ll

Things Needed:

- Modded Xbox
- UberScreenshotTool: http://files.filefront.com/UberScreensho...;/fileinfo.html
- Halo/Halo 2 Screencap Trainers: http://files.filefront.com/Halo+Screenca...;/fileinfo.html
- Xored ETM Launcher: http://files.filefront.com/Xored+ETM+Lau...;/fileinfo.html
- FTP Client: http://files.filefront.com/FlashFXP+34+S...;/fileinfo.html

Getting Started

Once you have downloaded the necessary files you need to FTP to your Xbox.

Then you need to go into your "apps" folder. Drag the "mini" folder from the "Xorde ETM Launcher.rar" archieve

Then you need to grab the "Xored.ini" and put it on your desktop.

Then you need to double click it to open it up in Notepad. You need to change the "#Trainers_Path"and "Trainers_Path" to "E:\Trainers" and you also have to change the "Games_Path1" to "E:\Games" and then save it.

Once you have done that you drag it back onto your Xbox and overwrite the other one.

Then you need to go back to the "E:/" folder and you need to create a folder named "Trainers" and then you need to put the two .etm files in there

Then using these in-game controls you take your pictures:

-----Halo 1 Config (retail NTSC only)-----
rthumb+lthumb=screencap*
rthumb+dpad-up = first person perspective
rthumb+dpad-down = third person perspective
rthumb+dpad-left = chasecam perspective
rthumb+dpad-right = stationary perspective

-----Halo 2 Config (retail PAL/NTSC)-----
rthumb+back=screencap*
back+dpad-up = first person perspective
back+dpad-down = third person perspective
back+dpad-left = chasecam perspective
back+dpad-right = debug camera**
rthumb+lthumb = toggle timefreeze
dpad-up = increase cam speed (only while in debug cam)
dpad-down = decrease cam speed (only while in debug cam)
rthumb+dpad-up = decrease cam depth
rthumb+dpad-down = increase cam depth
rthumb+dpad-left = increase fov
rthumb+dpad-right = decrease fov

*The screencap feature uses the current filetime when naming the images so you don't have to worry about a file being overwritten each session. If you wish to manually access the dumped images they will be saved in "E:/TDATA/gamesavedirectory/$s"

**The debug camera controls are all analog. Use the left thumbstick to move and the right thumbstick to look. The right and left triggers move along the Z axis while time is frozen, otherwise they will be disabled.

Then after taking your pictures turn your Xbox on to your modded dashboard. Then open up "UberScreenshotTool"

Then you need to go to "Edit" and then "Manage Connections"

Then click "Add New"

Then type in all your Xbox's info.

Then you click "File" then "Connect to" and then what you put as the name of your Xbox.

Then after they all load check mark the ones you want to keep.

Then go to "File" and then "Saved Checked As"

Then make a new folder on your desktop named "Screenshots" and then type the file name as "Pictures"

Now you have successfully took Halo 2 screenshots using the Halo Screencap Package.

Deleting the Pictures for New Ones

First just FTP to your Xbox.

Then go to the E:/TDATA/4d530064/$s/ This is the folder where all the raw dumps are held. To delete the pictures just highlight them all and then right click on them. You then select "Delete"

Now you know how to take Halo 2 screenshots and you know how to delete them!

Ok you load up Xored. If you edited the Xored.ini file correctly you should see Halo and Halo 2. Then click which ever you want the screenshots for. Then click Developer Mode v3 and then when it comes up with the next screen select Developer Mode and then click the start button. If Halo 2 is on your harddrive in the E:/Games folder it will load it. Then in game you press the buttons like so:

Halo 2 Controls
Click Right Thumbstick + Back Button = Take Screenshot*
Back Button + Press Up on Dpad = first person perspective
Back Button + Press Down on Dpad = third person perspective
Back Button + Press Left on Dpad = chasecam perspective
Back Button + Press Right on Dpad = debug camera**
Click Right Thumbstick + Click Left Thumbstick = toggle timefreeze
Press Up on Dpad = increase cam speed (only while in debug cam)
Press Down on Dpad = decrease cam speed (only while in debug cam)
Click Right Thumbstick + Press Up on Dpad = decrease cam depth
Click Right Thumbstick + Press Down on Dpad = increase cam depth
Click Right Thumbstick + Press Left on Dpad = increase fov
Click Right Thumbstick + Press Right on Dpad = decrease fov

Hope this helps!

Yes you can have the Evolution X dashboard. I mean't Developers Edition v1.3 anyway. And no you can't use Flash FXP or any FTP client to get them. You just need the .Net Framework 2.0 to run UberScreenshotTool.

@backupguy and @Manc89

Ok well I can't stress this enough that you have the Exored.ini setup correctly. You need it exact or it won't work. Check out the picture below:

Make sure "#Trainers_Path" and "Trainers_Path" are both set to the folder that holds your trainers. Also make sure "Games_Path1" is set to where the games saved on your harddrive are located. Then save the changes and FTP it back onto your Xbox.

If this doesn't help then let me know.

FuZ3 Ive done this, I'm stuck now on the Halo 2 Controls like this one: "Click Right Thumbstick + Back Button = Take Screenshot*" - When I do any of the commands nothing happens. I followed all instructions up to this point and it just doesnt seem to work for me.

You need to make sure that you enable the Developers Edition v1.3 and then click the start button. If the path for your games is set correctly then it will load either Halo or Halo 2 according to which one you want screenshots for.

Well go into debug mode by pressing back+dpad-right and then press dpad-up to speed up the camera and then press in the right thumbstick and then just press the back button rapidily and it's almost like a movie. If that helps.

@backupguy
The trainer disables the auto update so you shouldn't see the new maps.
