bare with me, let me explain why im curious about BIN files......
couple of days ago one of my dvd's got scratched so the dvd player and pc wont read it, iv tried ripping etc, didnt work...... i aint buying it again so i decided to search for it in a torrent file!
i found the film i was looking for, downloaded it..... great!!!
the file was a BIN file with an image file with it, it was a DVD rip
the quality was very good at 769mb, i burned the image file to ONE 680mb cd!! and it played in my dvd player perfectly,
so....sorry about all that,il get to the point,
what confuses me is the bin file is 769mb and the cd is 680mb,when i make vcd's, they usually take two cd's to fit the entire film on it, so how on earth do you get 769mb on a 680mb cd that plays like a dvd quality film with such little space to be burned too!!!!
if your wondering i used "nero burning rom" from Nero 7 ultra edition

directly to a dvdr/dvdrw to play in any stand alone dvd player
but you can watch them on your computer or if you have a decent
video card that has svideo connection you can hook it up to your tv a watch it the player needed to watch on your computer is called
videolan and can be obtained for free from
http://www.videolan.org/ just download and install
go to to movie file and click on the .cue file
it'll ask how to play click select player from list
and select videolan (click box "always use this
program for this file type")
click apply and ok
watch and enjoy
Now there are sometimes problems viewing these
types of files on your computer problems like
inaccurate time length ( saying its 35min long even
though its realy the acctual length of the movie)
and depending on the skill of the persom that made the
file sometimes the quality suffers, but even if
the quality is bad when playing on your computer
if you burn to dvd the quality is great

Sry got a little side tracked there have you tried to
create an iso or image file useing Nero or my favorite
alcohol soft or Alcohol 120% then mount the image to a drive that you created useing
Nero imagedrive.
the drive you create in imagedrive is your choice cd-rom
or dvd-rom
make dvd-rom and itll play like its on a dvd in a dvd player
you miss understand a little...... to cut a long story short, i was curious to how i could of burned a bin/cue file thats 769mb to a 680mb CD!!! and then it play on my dvd player (not pc's dvd player) with a very good quality picture/sound
i have vlc player so i can watch bin files on me pc, as for those movies thanks for the offer but i have them all except v for vendetta and benchwarmers, i have my own sources for getting hold of films,
if there is any films that you havent found let us know
(X)(S)VCD's are burnt mode 2 form 2. Basically error correction is sacrificed for space. A 700MB CDR holds 800MB's. Also CD images tend to have some overhead.
Probably you have a KVCD or similar. Have to say that the quality of KVCD's really doesn't impress me.
i agree with you, when i use the vlc player on my pc, the quality isnt too good, but when i burned it to a cd and played it on my dvd player in my living room, it was just fine,
not an expert but maybe it has something to do with it being viewed on a normal tv, with the pc's high resoloution it looks crap....!?
