Adobe Premiere 6.0 major problem

Ok, I'm using the same codec for any of the frames I use, but for some reason Adobe Premiere has suddenly decided it doesn't wanna work anymore. I'm saving about a 1GB file with it and when I export it, it gets to a certain afeea near the end that it wants to slow down to about 1 frame a minute. Then when I want the resulting video, it black out long before it gets to that area. Can anyone Please tell me what's going on!?
