ok i got this idea all by myself
some of you might have thought of it but o well
the cord that hooks into the top of the ps3 controller is a usb cord(same one thepsp used ill get to that later)
so im thinking that that sony might be planing to use it for computer games also

my 2nd point is
that the psp connection to the ps3 might not be wire less or you might be able to directly hook your psp to the ps3

Ps3 60gig
Psp 2.8 2gig mem card

the 360's controller is compatible with computers, so it would make sense if sony's controller follows suit.

i suppose this could work, but my philosophy is that if it needs a controller to be played, you'd probably wanting to be doing it on a console, not a pc...

@skater not really. The wired 360 controller is making waves on pc gaming because of it's familiarness to 360 gamers.I know what you mean though.

I think it's a great idea.I'm jealous I didn't think of it myself LOL.

Your right smayco ports from the ps3 could be played on the ps3 with better precision.I think hades right it would be a great idea for sony to do this in counter of microsoft's move.

so lets say that if the ps3 controller can be used with computer games, do you think games would ever incorporate the tilt functionality?

I think afew ports from the ps3 would incorporate it.Sadly I don't think the majority of pc games would ever support it.Hell just gamepad support alone is hard to find on pc games. You all know about my sig and my knowledge of gamepad and gamepad supported games so take it as gospel.Trust me.

the ps3 controller should be compatable with anything bluetooth, correct?

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

You would think but until we have it in our hands or sony says something, we don't know. You would think if it were pc compatible sony would have said something already.Besides most desktops don't have bluetooth so a wired usb would be a better solution similar to the 360 pc controller.

Either way it doesn't matter if the devs don't write code for it.That's why I made that list in my sig.

**edit*** wel not anything bluetooth but I know what you meant. The devs would for sure support the controller but not many would support the tilt function unless it's a ps3 port.

all macs have bluetooth, and some pc's. alot of phones and pda's do too. im sure a program on a mac or pc could emulate the signals sent to the controller to make it believe its on the ps3 but its not.

mac consiste of 12 % of the laptop market
http://www.macobserver.com/article/2006/07/19.16.shtml

and yes, the percent is low for destops, but with bootcamp im sure market share will increase dramatically and ipod users will buy a mac cuz it run windows too.\

3-5% overall. You didn't say laptops you said pc's.You seem to forget most games don't run on a mac.True they started running a full distro of windows recently which only shows how desperate they really are in the pc market, but older macs still only have the emulator which sucks for games. This & ipod will hopefully get them better results.Frankly I want to see apple get back to the top but I also think they need to lower prices in order to compete with dell,gateway,hp,etc...

Really apple doesn't even know they're market share it's just an estimate.

boot camp was originally an externally produce freeware from a group of programmers. apple saw this, and quickly purchased it, knowing it would spread like wildfire. anyone looking for a switch now will get a recently produced mac, and they all support x86. dont even say they were desparate to emulate a pc. but virtual pc and guest pc for the old powerpc processor kinda sucks and you need a good mac to do it.

They were desparate to emulate a pc.Why else would they do it?
Obvisously they were losing to windows which is why they did it.You don't see microsoft trying to emulate mac os now do you?

That's what I was reffering to when I said emulation on older macs.I'm not talking about the dual boot os which is a newly preinstalled feature,it didn't come preinstalled on older macs and was hardly used until now.Doesn't matter if it's freeware or not.

they didnt do it. i told you this before. it was a 3rd party app. apple just baught it from them and are marketing it for free. they were not trying one bit to figure out how to do it. for months no one could do it. then this team of programmers figured it out.

What part of my last post would make you think otherwise? I know apple didn't create it that's why I mentioned it doesn't matter whether it's freeware or not. After they bought it they helped develope it.

Pure common sense.

here I was differentiating virtual pc(emulation) from boot camp. But it(a stable bootcamp pre installed) still wasn't available on older macs which was the damn point. This has to do with apples recent switch to intel which was just this year.
Quote:
Non-Apple operating systems for today?s Macintoshes include Linux, NetBSD, and OpenBSD. With the release of Intel-based Macintosh computers, the potential to natively run Windows-based operating systems on Apple hardware without the need for software such as Virtual PC was introduced. In March of 2006, a group of hackers announced that they were able to run Windows XP on an Intel based Mac. The group has released their software as open source and has posted it for download on their website.[7] On April 5, 2006 Apple announced the public beta availability of their own Boot Camp software which will allow owners of Intel-based Macs to install Windows XP on their machines. Boot Camp is proposed to be a standard feature in Leopard.[8]
***edit it was open source and apple didn't really need to buy anything but I'll go with it make you look better:)

i heard from my dad on that one. people with older macs more than likely like mac more. not always but alot of the time. so anyone who sees that a mac can also be a pc they think its pretty interesting. the only point i was even trying to bring up is the fact it could help increase market share.
