i recentley got a Slime PS2 V14 model and i was thinking of purchising Magic Swap 3.6 with those tools to make it work.So my question is if it is risky to install those tools because i bought a mod chip and i had another PS2,so i tried to install it but the PS2 was to delacet so one of the wires connecting to the cd rom ripped. So should i consider buying Magic Swap 3.6??

Swap Magic is great. Get it without those crappy hard to use tools (so I've read), open it up and mod it yourself. Super easy.

What do you mean about modding it by yourself?

Instead of using the Magic Keys, open up the case and tape down 2 switches. It's super easy, but do realize that opening the case will void your warranty.

This is the easiest way to mod your Slimline...although you will void your warranty this is guranteed to work. I bought my Slimline 6 days ago and modded it within 5 mins. This method really works and is easier than the tools (oh and the tools work on all the slimline ps2 accept the v14...so if you have a new slimeline this method is needed for you anyway...plus its free!!!)

But if you are opening it y not just get a modchip cause they are more reliable. I think you dont want to void your warranty so rthe best thing wit v14 is magic keys 2

Sure there's nothing wrong with getting a modchip, i mean you might as well since you goin to open the console anyway...but what if that person dont know how to install the chip. And unless you know how to solder installing a chip is complicated!

I know how to soder but the last time i opened my other PS2 to install a mod chip that i bought, one of the wires ripped because it was very fragile and i dont want to risk it again so the other alternative to play backup and import games is swap magic.
