i was curious to know if anyone else is having this problem with DVDFab. Well, i really do not know for sure if it is DVDFab or Nero. But i can run a movie through DVDFab, and save it. Then when i open up Nero recode 2 and while it is analysing, i have a break in the movie. if i continue to analyse, when the movie is burned to disc, there is a pause in the movie like somoeone hit the pause button on the remote control. i have to rewind the movie, and fast forward through that break. if i run it through shrink, i do not have that problem. is this DVDFab problem, or Nero problem? What can i do about this? I have the lastest version of DVDFab, and my Nero program is Nero Express 6. Only started having this trouble about 2 weeks ago.

What is the condition of your source disc? DVDFab will insert "dummy sectors" in the unreadable cells of your disc. This might be giving you the glitch that you are describing in your backup. Recode and DVD Shrink were developed by the same guy and DVD Shrink hasn't recieved support for years while Recode has...so I'd think it more of a problem during the rip than a problem during the encode. BTW, when you use DVD Shrink are you sending the movie to Nero for burning or DVD Decrypter/Imgburn.

it is just wierd because when i run the movie through Nero, it has that "glitch". but when i run it through shrink after DVDFab, i do not have that problem. i am burning with Nero from DVDShrink. It always seems to do it about half way through the movie. The source disc is fine, because it they play good in DVD player. like i said, it has only recently started doing this. i will sit and watch Nero analyse, and i watch the green graph, and i see that missing spot and i stop the analysis, and run through shrink and it works great. i liked using Nero Recode because it was faster. but if i cant do that anymore that is fine, i would just like to know what is going on. i appreciate any help.

Try reripping with Ripit4Me in wizard mode, follow the prompts using FixVTS and the likes and then try running through Recode and see if the result is the same.

It's not too hard to figure out and each step prompts you to take action via the wizard mode so it's more or less a no-brainer.

Good luck and happy burning.

i have used RipIt4Me, and i have to say that i really do not like this program. it seems to take longer than just running it through Fab, and then through Shrink. i guess to each his own.

It's not for everyone and it is certainly a different approach to backing up your DVD's. BTW, did it get the job done? You can always try running your VIDEO_TS.IFO through VobBlanker after DVDFab has ripped your movie and before you use Recode...it will attempt to straighten out the mess left after the rip so that Recode can better handle the files.

yes, it did get the job done. but you know, i copied Four Brothers last night, and Nero did the same thing. Gave me the "glitch". i think i will run it through VOB now before going to Nero to see if that will straighten out the problem. did not think about that, thanks alot. have a good one.
