I rip the movies with DVDFab Decrypter, then run them through Shrink and then burn them as an ISO. I also run them through VOB_Blanker for newer movies if necessary.

The movies quite frequently as of lately have pixel problems and the like. I'm wondering if my burner is going out (it could very well be) or what is going on. Or is it a software problem? I have the latest version of all the software (besides Nero) and I've burned loads of movies before and this just popped up in the last couple of months. These are mostly older movies I do that have no sort of protection on them of any substance.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Probably not a software or a hardware problem. What brand discs are you using and how fast are you burning...also need to know what your target output size is set to.

I'm using Sony DVD+R's and I was burning at 8x which has never given me a problem before now, and now I've dropped to 4x and still getting a problem.

The output size is the default Shrink setting. Like I said, I've been doing this for over a year and am now just having problems.

Try some Verbatim discs, reduce your target output size to 4360 in DVD Shrink preferences and make sure that your firmware is up to date. If you are applying high amounts of compression you may need to use Deep Analysis and DVD Shrink's AEC controls.

I'll try reducing the output size. I used to use Verbatim discs all the time and loved them, but they're only sold in bulk at Sam's Club so it's harder to get to them.

I do use the Error Compression and Deep Analysis on every movie I do.

Don't know about the firmware.

Any other ideas?

Check on the firmware, you may be able to hold off on the new discs for a while...just for future reference Sony's don't come highly recommended and a good quality disc can save you alot of headaches.

What program r u using to burn the ISO's?
More than likely it is the media though

to check ur firmware open DVD Decrypter then select TOOLS/Drive/Check for firmware update.
It will tell u what ur firmware is and send u to a website to check if there is an update
