Help with v12 ps2 and HDLoader

I am wanting to play games on my PS2 by loading them from HDD so I went and bought an external USB enclosure for my 3.5" HDD so i have it successfully assembled with my 20gb seagate HDD (i have checked the compatiablity list and it seems to be correct it is a seagate ST320413A) and used winhiip to install 2 images on the HDD it is formatted to have a ps2 MBR so everything should be in order. I also have the HDLoader 8B ELF installed on my Memory card.

Now my HDD is connected to my ps2 by the front usb port and i boot HDLoader it loads correctly but then it says has not detected a hard drive or something like that. The drive is working perfectly so i dont know whats wrong?
Does anyone else know? Please help

thats because hd loader is for internal hd's. You need usbextreme.
