I'm trying to copy a title logo from a video file to print out, but the "Print Screen" key is giving me trouble. I pause MPC with the desired image nice and clear, then hit the key. Next I open a Paint window and paste the screen into it, and the image comes up fine.

The problem is that the logo isn't really IN the Paint image -- the printed MPC border and desktop is kind of like a "window" surrounding the logo, so if I drag things around the logo stays in one place "behind" whatever else is there and gets covered up. If I attempt to save the image with Paint or re-open it, MPC's display (in the capture) is blank.

How come the pasted capture won't become "solid" enough for me to move or save it? I managed to do this once a while ago successfully, so I don't know where I'm going wrong now.

Thanks for any help. (Hope this is an appropriate board, I wasn't sure where to ask.)

Sometimes I have captured using the Print Screen button and pasting it onto PhotoShop Elements or other image editing software. Then I make the moditications I want.

If I always hear voices surrounding me, does it mean Im crazy or that I hear in Dolby 5.1?

Instead of using Print-Screen, in MPC have you tried File, then Save Image?

Otherwise, I'm guessing it's a problem with the video being displayed in overlay mode. In MPC, View, Options, Playback, Output, under Direct show video try switching from System Default or Overlay to VMR7 or VMR9 renderless.

I know exactly what you are talking about, and because I was having the same problem when I was trying to capture images from movies with which to make custom labels. Do a google search for a program called Fraps. It will do what you want it to do.
