I have a PS2 version 1 or something...it's got 10 screws. I can't find a RELIABLE website that sells the older versions of the fliptop, so is slidecard really that bad? Will it break my ps2? I'll be only using it for one game, it's an import that I want to play.

Should I just go ahead and get a slidecard?

You can find old ps2 fliptops at http://www.memtechsolutions.co.uk/ for about £9.99 and slide tools are fine too.

Although, sticking anything into the drive tray of your PS2 is always a very risky thing to do. Better off with a fliptop.

You can find a template to so that you can cut one out of an old credit card or something similar.

If done carefully I dont think it will cause hardly and damage. The parts you move with the slide card move anyway, just you moving it rather than the ps2.
Can also use a knife but I'd recommended trying with a slide card first to get used to the feeling of moving the right parts rather than breaking anything, after all, its only plastic

I use a slide tool and it hasn?t damaged anything, so it?s worked for me.
