Ok, I have all the VIDEO_TS files ready to burn to DVD-R to backup my DVD, so using Nero 6.0.0.8 to do it I set the burn speed to maximum (think its x16) and start it to burn (the file size usually end up just over 4Gb), now it takes about an hour and 20 minutes to do all of this, whereas today my mate burnt a similar file size using same version of Nero, and he has EXACT same compuer (both bought at same time) and his took 7 minutes. Can anyone please help me as im a novice and would like to sove this as esily and quickly as possible. Thanks.

Check and make sure your DVD drive is in DMA mode. It could have droped to PIO mode.

Do this by doing the below...

START/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM(Which is in the list under control panel)

Now click on the HARDWARE TAB/Then click DEVICE MANAGER

When the device manager opens go down the list till you find IDE Controlers. Click on the + sign to branch out the IDE controler tree. Now look under each IDE Channel and make sure they are all in DMA mode.

If you find 1 that is in PIO mode then right click on it and choose to uninstall that channel. Then reboot your computer and windows should then install it in DMA mode.

What he said, also Nero 60008 is basically a glorified BETA.
