when i try to burn dvds it sais power caliberation error
any ideas

Hi elasu
Power calibration error can be caused by a few things.
1st to check would be the media you are using & make sure your drives firmware is up to date.
What brand are you using? Make and model of drive?
If you are using Nero you can post the last log. They can be found here:
For Nero 6: program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory
For Nero 7: program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory.
Just be sure to edit out the serial # - usually begin w/ 1A,1C or 5C.
The logs are usually separated by something like this:

mines Nero 7 ultra edition and can`t find history,,
it cant be the media as ive tried sevral different ones,
verbatim,phillips,sony.
i have a matshita drive and do not no how to update..

i dont no. it only started doing this last week.. oh i forget it can burn the cd`s fine but when it burns dvd at has that error

lol No probs It's usually just the firmware and as your new to it you wouldn't think to (possibly know to) update it....
