I was just wondering how this can be done, Making another backup of a backed up game..

wether its simply putting the backup in the drive and extracting the image and burning the image onto another disc which i have tried on a laptop and failed

is there anyway to do this?

Cheers - Hes

BUMP

I also want to know how to do this. Can someone point us to a link or just give a quick step by step of what to do with a already working backup copy?

just put the backup into your DVD+R DL drive as an original dvd rom will not recognize(maybe newer ones do but not mine), and just copy disc with clonecd. when it is done copying to the hard drive just put dual layer media into the burner and copy as you would a normal game

yes i have the pioneer 111d, and have burnt games successfully in the past.

The only thing i have no tried is extracting the image from the disc, and then merging it again with the SS then burning it again

So is this what you have to do? From Clone CD make it a image file, remerge the SS file and burn again?

thats a theory

Ive been told this method works: as follows

Steps:

1) You need to have 2 drives, a DL DVD burner, and a normal dvd drive, put the backup you want to copy in the dvd drive (not the DL drive) then put a blank DL disk in the DL dvd burner

2) you need Alcohol or Nero, go to DVD options, then Copy DVD

it should work, from the person that told me, he said he has made alot of copies of his backed up games for whatever reason..

Hope this helps

Tell me if it works

if i wrote the image to my hard drive, and then burned it to a disk, would i have to merge the SS files again? as i have tried it exactly what you and other people have said and it has not worked..

So maybe the SS files do you merge them in again aswell>?

i have not merged them in at all, i just put the disc in my burner, load up clonecd and press read to image file(or whatever it is, i am pretty sure it is the 3rd button), then direct it to your desired folder, when it is completed i have about 8 files, then just push the second button, and locate the file and done. maybe your bitsetting isn't correct and it is not reading the disc, are you sure it is a working backup??

dude to allow your backup to be legal you can only make one copy of it any more than that its classed as piracy

hey man piracy is when your making "backups" of original source code when you do not own the game itself. it is then not piracy if you actually paid for the source code, if i own a game that i paid for i can make as many copies as i would like as long as i am not redistributing them for money, you have no idea how bad my kids are with scratching the shit out of my games.

do what you want but almost all laws everywhere says you are entitled to ONE and ONLY ONE backup.

In teh US its fuzzy because you ARE allowed one backup but its illegal to circumvent backup protection, so how teh hell?... For people in USA it's still arguable (legally) and we are already walking a thin line.

teh way i see it if your backup breaks make another one but you dont need to make 2 at once.
