Hey everyone, I opened up my PS2 last night just to see if I could. I know this might be a silly question but I'm really having a hard time closing it back up. Most of the case closes but there is just this one area that I can't close. I have a PS2 Slim SCPH-70012. Can someone tell me how to close it? I still have the warreanty sicker on it that is not broken. I will get the pictures shortly.

DO NOT TAKE IT TO PC WORLD OR AND SONY CENTER!!!! IF YOU HAVE A LOCAL PC AR ELECTRICAL SHOP NEAR YOU, THAT DOSNT HAVE ANY OTHER BRANCHES, AND IS A SMALL BUISNESS, TAKE IT TO THEM. IF YOU TAKE IT TO A SONY CENTER, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU ALOT BECAUSE YOU HAVE INVALIDATED THE WARRANTY AND IT WILL COST ALOT MORE TO REPAIR. TAKE IT TO A SMALL ELECTRICAL SHOP, AND TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED, AND THEY REPAIR IT WITHOUT FUSS!

Try closing it starting at the front and working towards the back, normally you just pull the top part of the case slightly in front of that reset switch, push down, and it should fall into place.

Doesn't look like it, the slim PStwo is just cramped as it is.

Ok, cool, thanks! From the video links that were posted here it says I have to take off the warranty sticker, is this necessary to put the case back on? Will I be able to put the sticker back on?

How did you get it off with the warranty sticker still on?
Which version of the Slim do you have?

The model is 70012. I unscrewed it, then i just took of the top carefully... That's it I guess. I just did that, but it's to late now, I took off the sticker. I still can't close it! I really need help. I tried but it didn't work.

I can still get it repaired without the gaurantee, right? I mean, I don't want to go and buy a new one.

kilernuke, i have opened my ps2 recently, and i have a v12 70003 PAL version. if you have not thrown the warranty sticker away and it is not damaged, then you could colour the back in with a black permanent marker
and put the sticker back where u found it. oh, and i checked up, the sony center might be able to close it for free, but you may need to pay if a part is damaged and needs to be replaced.

I just finished modding a slimline, just tip the cover forward slightly, so that the memory card/controller ports are going in correctly, then you can pull it back properly.

hey, mate. i hope its not too late, but that thing that was causing the prob is the reset button. it should have a small bump in the casing where it is supposed to slide in.
