XBox Modification - Getting Started

Hi all,

I have a friend with a modified Xbox who gave me an emulator disk full of games that I am dying to play!

Of course my Xbox is not modified and I would like to make it so!

Could someone point me in the right direction or offer up any tips on how I can get started doing this?

Since my friend did not modify his own he couldn't really help me other than to tell me that his was modifed by using Mech Assault.

Surely....I know there must be more to it than that.

Any starting points or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you Stu. I have been reading up on this and pretty much am looking into a standard X-box softmod. I do not believe I want a chip installed nor do I believe I need to upgrade the hard drive.

I could probably do all this myself after obtaining Action Replay and Mech Assault but I'm thinking I may just try and found someone I can pay and send it off to do it.

Are there any good web sites that you may know of that are reliable and provide this service that you could recommend or direct me to?

Make sure that you make a backup of everything on your xbox when you get the softmod working. Half of the probs here are because people have done the wrong thing without a backup.
