Hi, I just needed 2 know if you can copy ps2 disks and actualy make them work without a modchip or anything - just a ps2! i have an internal nec DVD-RW r9 ultraspeed drive and a slimline ps2. also, can u play DVD-RW in a ps2? and if u can copy them

slow down, like 30 questions going on. first, no you cannot play backups w/o a modchip or swap magic. second, i think you can play DVD-RW, but i highly dont recommend it, i recommend DVD-R. third, u can get games of the internet by use of torrents, and yes u cna then burn them to a disc. but if u dont have a modchip or swap magic, then dont even try

Ok, i guess i might as well chip it myslelf then. does any1 know wer i can download ps2 games from, or get torrents 4 them. it would be gr8 if there was a website which had them on :~)

If you have access to a press burner, you can replicate the authentication code that is on PlayStation 2 discs. Like that, you'll only need a chip if you want to play games that don't match your PlayStation 2's region code. It's only possible if you have access to a press burner(don't even know what it looks like, but your burner is NOT a press burner).

There is no such things as a press burner ace, what you mean is a dvd press, and those cost several thousands of dollars.
And even if you had one of those you'd need the original disc layer forms to make copies of PS2 games.
@ the original poster : there's no way to play backups without some kind of mod, be it a modchip, swapmagic disc and fliptop or w/e, or a memcard exploit.
As for your question on where to get games, that's piracy, and that is against forum rules, so i suggest you use google and find that out yourself...

yeh, even if it is piracy, ive seen other threads with the same question. and anyway, like gaming pirates say, its only for "educational" purposes!

and the people that ask those questions get scolded/banned and the threads usually get closed. you cannot justify your actions by those of another; if you could, do you think prisons would be so overpacked?
judge: "you did it. go to prison."

i think not. and there's no use trying to justify your actions with the typical fallback lines, anyway. if you're going to do something, be a man about it and accept responsibility. the buck stops here.
