Thinking of buying (as a gift) a 360 with the Hitachi/LG drive ( I already have the 360 with the samsung/toshiba drive)

Can anyone please give me some information on the Hitachi/LG drive in terms of the pros and cons? I looked but could find much excepting it's a bit noisy and has problems reading media discs.

Get a Samsung DVD ROM .. Screw Hitachi , it's a pain in the Azz

The old Hitachis were very nosey. I listened a launch one and one made in December and later sounded pretty close to my Samsung to me. Samsungs are a bit better overall, but it doesn't really make too much of a difference at this point.

ANYONE HERE NOW ABOUT THE HITACHI UNRECOGNIZED DISK ERROR.I FLASHED WITH OPA 7.2 100 FLASHED NO ERRORS BUT WONT PLAY BACKUPS.THEY PLAY IN MY SAMSUNG BUT NOT IN MY HITACHI
