It's usually a good idea to tell us what error messages you get.

Here is a thread about this movie.

What numerous things have you tried? If you are trying to do this with Shrink alone you won't be able to, you will need other programs along with Shrink.

Rip first with DVD Fab Decrypter to your HDD and then run the output file through VobBlanker to remove any bad cells. DVDFab and VobBlanker software here.

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

Guide by Alkohol here.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154

You can also use RipIt4Me along with DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and FixVTS. Which if used in 1click mode will all open automatically. FixVTS will sanitize the file

Guide and software here.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110

You can also try the trial of AnyDVD and use the ripper in it to rip and then run the file through Shrink. AnyDVD incorporates FixVTS into the ripper and if you check remove any blank or unreferenced cells will clean it up. There is a 21 day free trial of the program

Edit, Hey frank how you doing, lol you are too fast for me this morning :)

This just looks like your typical ARccOS protected movie. I don't know what the percentages are getting to be, but I'd guess about 20% of the movies that I burn have some sort of additional protection.

Same as bhetrick mentioned, I haven't had any I couldn't burn with Shrink/Nero and AnyDVD running in the background. It's my favorite method.

Hi Arniebear, I just linked to a relevent thread whereas you took the time to actually write something!

@mazster

Glad to hear RipIt4Me worked for you, I have not had one problem with this program and newer encrypter movies. Great little program and it is free :)

@arniebear

Absolutely right on the advice to use AnyDVD ripper on Silent Hill and then Shrink. No problems.

Me thinks Rob1026 missed a math class.

To my reckoning he's within size and less than half the bytes @24K+.
I kinda like his sig.

@newbies or those needed helps

DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter alone can't handle new released now-a-days, so you'll need either "RipIt4Me" (DVD Decrypter + FixVTS) or DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker.

Well, since a lot of newbies (members) are having issues left to right, I thought I'll just throw in a very basic guide "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" for those that are clueless and or needed helps. I highly recommend to post process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker for "security" purpose.

**NOTE: The guide has been tested and it worked -- matter of fact, I've tested both ways, in combo with VobBlanker and without. Nero Recode 2 can handle the job either way easily. However, if you're the few (like me) that like to BLANK out junks from your movie/dvds, then it's wise to post process with VobBlanker, plus it helps to correct any minor structures.

**NOTE: I'm using DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.8.3 and it took 18 minutes to rip SILENT HILL (US, Region 1)

<<< STEP 1: Rip the movie using DVDFAB Decryptery >>>

<<< STEP 2: Process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker >>>

**NOTE: for this movie, I blanked out all trailers, except "Ghost Rider" only. To Blank out any scene or vTS that's basically junk, just click on any VTS, play/preview it, then use BLANK button on the "Right" or double click on PGC entry, Highlight any Cell #, Prev/Cut to play, then BLANK it out.

And now the rest is history, meaning free of junks/craps, so it should be super easy on DVD Shrink, Nero Recode 2, DVD-RB Pro or any of your desire engines. Enjoy your backup and happy burning.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

You cannot convert a -R disk to a +R it does not work that way, you can bitset a +R to a DVD-Rom if you have a burner that supports that feature. You say you burned this from/on a DVD Recorder, what file format and what process did you use. DVD Recorder I know of won't record protected DVD's.
