What will happen if I use a different region game to play xblive?

Will I get ban? But on the other hand, there're lots of region free game but still a few aren't. So is it safe to play a different region game on live?

what do you mean...? if the game is region free, and a different region than yours, then you can play it on your xbox, and you can go on live no problem. If the game is a different region and not region free, then you will not be able to play it on your xbox.

What about backups? As it is possible to play online with same region backup but what about different region backups (that aren't region free orignally).

there is no way to change a games region encoding, meaning there can be no backup that is region free, in which its original was created with a region lock.

For example, some one flashed their DVD drive and is able to play a jap game on a US system but what if he use it to play online?

If someone can play a Jap game on a US console, that means the game is region free. The flash cannot let someone play region locked games. Meaning the ONLY way different regions can be played on your consle is if its region free, there is nothing anyone can do about it, firmware hack, or creating a backup... theres no way around it. So if you can run a different region, its because it was originally made that way, and you wont get in trouble for playing it on Live.
