I need help here. I am trying to burn a backup on to a DVD-R. I have Maxell 8xdvd-r. My burner is a NEC DVD_RW ND 3550A. What do I need to do to get this working again. I have used many of these dvd-r's over the past 3 months and am just now having a problem. Here is the log file it gave me.

While Maxell provide excellent media when made in Japan, unfortunately you've bought the Made in Taiwan flavored discs...

The discs you bought are made by CMC Magnetics, the same company that manufactures discs for Memeorx, Imation and many other companies...these are trash bin quality blanks. I suggest getting either some Maxell's made in Japan or Verbatims made in either country...Verbatims are the only discs I would buy from Taiwan.
