My xbox which use to work fine now gets error codes on boot up 9 ,13
but sometime with a wak it will boot and work but then you hear a click and it stalls when playling a game music or video the chip says smart xx and it has a 300 gig drive with about 85 games not including roms . can some one help me out where to start or a good repair shop

It might be a dashboard issue, try dling AID 3.0 and using to re install your dahboards. That might fix the error 13 problem, as for the error 9, im not sure what to do.

Thanks King , that seems to work it is not stalling any more but sometime i still get that error 9 i am not sure how to fix something with ythe hard drive my drive is 300 gb . On my other xbox they replaced the chip all is well but i need some directions on upgradeing the hard drive . thanks so much for your help

Soft or hard mod on this one? If it's a hard mod, check the connector pins on the chip, maybe there is something loose or touching. I have heard of small hairs or spiderwebs on those pins causing problems in some extreme cases, you never know. It might be worth a look for you.

It sounds like something isn't being recognized, or interfacing correctly, which leads me to believe you have a short in their somewhere, perhaps a drive simply isn't connected properly, definitely examine 'under the hood' to make sure all connectors and soldered correctly, etc.

I'm not the most familiar with error 9, but if this doesn't help, try googling it, google has everything. :D (This commercial advertisement, brought to you by: Google)

thank you but that error 9 i fixed by reloading the dash board but the error 13 has somthing to do with the hard drive yes i check all connections and i think it was a short in the light that was on top of the xbox i touch it and it crumbled after that it seems fine

Your hard drives is going out. Back up what you can (eprom first) and save some dough for a new drive.
