I had that, but it turned out to be an HDMI port.

Q: What is HDMI?
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first and only industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between any audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable.

If your not utilizing the HDMI port, it's not High-Def.

Q: What is USB?
The Universal Serial Bus is a Serial Bus that gives you a single, standardized, easy-to-use interface to connect up to 127 devices to a computer.

The SATA port is for an External hard drive. The Ethernet port is for firmware updates, I think.
The USB port works with the proper application and network infrastructure to operate with data devices. This includes Internet access, e-mail IP Telephony, E-commerce, home banking, etc.
Unfortunately this (software apps) is controlled by your service provider.

Motorola says to NOT attempt to connect without your SP input. But hey, plug it in and see what happens. Sounds like it might be a fun project to pursue.

Of course you could still use your Box outputs (S-video, etc.) to a capture card for input.
