Hello.

Now I know that people may think that this is a dumb question, but it really isn't.

I had an original aka Fat PS2 since they came out, and sadly, it died on me. I had a codebreaker version 9, and I would use a 1GB Lexar JumpDrive to transfer saves, and it all worked fine.

So, I went and bought a slim PS2. Latest model 75001. The codebreaker works, but when I put the Flash Drive in the USB port, the PS2 will not detect it. The USB still works in my computer tho, and I made sure my USB ports on the PS2 worked by plugging in my Pocket PC, which started charging as soon as I plugged it into the USB on the PS2.

So, I go to the Pelican website, and it seems everyone that has the 75001 model is having this problem, and it may be due to the Codebreaker software not detecting the drive due to the model. Only people with the 75001 model have this problem.

Here's the link to that Topic if you would like to see it: http://forums.cmgsccc.com/showthread.php?t=467

So, I'm trying to look at other devices to see if there's an alternate method. I see that there's the AR MAX EVO edition, which comes with the 16MB Flash Drive to put in your USB slot.

So, before I spend $40 on it, I would like to make sure it works with my system. There hasn't been any reports about it not working on the slim 75001, but I wanna make sure.

So, if anyone that has the slim PS2 model 75001, and have an AR Max, with thumbdrive, could you please tell me if it works or not?

Thanks a bunch.

Sincerely,

John Shumate - Owner of High Tech Entertainment

First off, remove the IDs and e-mail address you left. I have the SCPH-75001 with the Action Replay MAX(the original, not Evo), and I have a working thumbdrive with it(it's a 256MB Verbatim USB Memory Stick).

My console collection: Version 14A PlayStation 2(chipped), Version 7 PlayStation 2, PlayStation(both models), Wii, Gamecube, N64, Super NES(original from US and Japan and Mini), NES(front and top loader)Model 1 & 2 Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Atari 2600, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Master System(Model 1 and 2), Atari Flashback 1 & 2, FC Twin(2 in 1 NES/Super NES clone), GN Twin(2 in 1 NES/Genesis clone), Atari 7800, Intellivision II, TurboGrafx 16, GameBoy Color

Hmm..ok..well..maybe it is just the software with the Codebreaker. Hmmm.

Thanks for the help.

If anybody else knows if the Action Replay MAX: EVO (The one that comes with the 16mb flash drive) works with PS2 Model 75001, I would greatly appreciate it.

Until then, I'll look for a regular AR MAX online. Where did you get your 256MB Verbatim USB Memory Stick at?

I got my Memory Stick at Staples Business Depot(should be called Staples in the States, I got mine in Canada, where I live). You could even look at Best Buy to find a good USB Memory Stick.

I'm just trying to figure out which one would work best. I don't wanna just buy flash drive after flash drive for it.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'll be getting an AR MAX very soon.

Yea the AR Max evo cost more than buying a max and a flash drive. If the flash drive doesnt work try returning it

I don't mind paying the $40 price on an EVO.

Also, I don't wanna keep running back and forth trying to figure out which Flash Drive works.
