What is the best compression app? I've been using shrink forever, but since getting a mitsu DLP tv and a denon dvd player, I've started to notice a lost of pixelation in my dvd's with Shrink even if there isn't any compression applied. Is there a better app, with better encoding/algorythum? Thanks!

surfgeo is correct. Try the free version of DVD-RB first and then you can buy it if you like it. Since this is an encoding program make sure your computer specs are adequate and the times will be about 3-4X's longer to do a movie. Suggest you use the HC (free w/ the program) encoder as it almost equals CCE in quality

My choices are:

(1) DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 (for 40% or higher compressions needed).
(2) Nero Recode 2 (Assign Best Quality to Main Movie + AA + HQSR) for 40% or lower compressions needed.

The choice is yours. We're entitled to our judgment, so use whatever you deem gives you the best quality in the end.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
