I just picked up a excercise DVD at a garage sale. Its a little scratched up but it plays ok on my DVD player.

I want to back it up; I have tried shrink and it wont work. I have tried to read then rip with decrypter, wont work. I tried DVD Clone, wont work. I am running the current version of ANY DVD...

Any thoughts?

PS I have burned hundreds of DVDs, usually when I have this problem the disc is just dirty, but I have cleaned it and that did not help.

It is scratched and even though it plays okay on your player does not mean the reader is as forgiving. It is not protection that is stopping the rip. Try DVDFab Decrypter if it cannot make it through then nothing can. Or try another reader sometimes one can make it where another can't.

I have tried 3 different machines. Is FabDecrypter stil available her on afterdawn? I will look for it. Are there any known issues with having Fab, Shrink and DVD Decrypter on the same PC?

DVDFab available here

No there are not issues between the programs, however if you have tried it on that many pc's/burners it is doubtful DVDFab will get through it. You can try isobuster maybe that will do it.

I used DVD Fab, then Nero to burn and that worked.

However, at first I tried to use Decrypter to burn afetr using DVD Fab and I was unable to do so. Then I tried Nero and that worked. I am confused about about why I couldnt use Decrypter, but I guess I got what I needed.

Thanks!

DVDFab Decrypter will only rip to VOB files, and DVDD will only burn iso files. You would need to run the file created by DVDFab through DVD Shrink and output to an iso file and then you can burn with DVDD.

...Or you could create an ISO with Imgburn and burn with it:
