and please tell me how to get it to receive signals from a different service provider than the original one once its unlocked.

yes the mobile was bought in the US Im not sure abt the company I guess it was Voice Stream.

You need to be certain about the network otherwise the codes we give will be wrong and your mobile will end up hardlocked.

After the phone boots up, press #
Press * 3 times fast for (p)
Press * 4 times fast for (w)
Press * 2 times fast for (+)
Verify code before pressing the last #.
"Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked!

Even though Voicestream may be on the phone, T-Mobile is who it should be locked to.
