Can't reinstall softmod

So i'm using the linux softmod installer off my hdd, but like what? I got error code 21 so I booted up Splinter Cell and got onto the mod setup page to enable FTP and it turns out it was renamed to xboxdash.xbeuxe so to fix I renamed to xboxdash.xbe
But now my problem is that the mod setup screen still says REMOVE MOD and not INSTALL MOD.
Any ideas? Or will I have to do this manually?
And yes, I did look for obvious errors before I removed the softmod

edit: just got it to reinstall the setup but after I choose the patch is just gives me the same error
