Hello everyone, this is my first listing I hope someone can help, well here goes, I have a PS2 that will not read any disks, I thought it was just a new laser needed but I was wrong, I have put a new laser in and still will not read anything, I thought the laser was dead so I checked it in my mates ps2 and it works fine, so its not the laser, when I put it in and press the reset button it dose everything it should (move up, down, slides a bit and flashes) I have no clue what is the problem apart from when it flashes red it is very dim, in my mates PS2 it flashes bright red, dose anyone know what the problem could be??
Any help with this would be very grateful.

hi thank you for that, i have cleaned it out, the thing looks new inside, the laser is new and works fine in my friends. its like when batterys are going or something, with new batterys it would be nice and bright like in my mates ps2, but in mine it is like batterys are flat very dull, which to me is very strange, i dont see why it would be bright in my mates and very dull in mine,
thanks for the help.

p.s i no there is not batterys its just what it is like....

I have a similiar problem last night I tried to play a few dvds on my V7 PS2, some of which worked for a very short time, and the others not at all. The ones that did not work at all were not even recognized by my PS2. I tried these DVDs on my player and they worked fine. All of my dvd based games work fine, but not dvds. Maybe my laser is dusty? Any suggestions?
