Newbie help for HDLoader

I am interested in buying a HDD package with HDLoader and everything but as I was searching up on HDLoader I just got confused as to how many different versions of it there were. The original one was what I was planning on buying but apparently there are a couple of modified ones that would do more than what the retail version could do. Also I just came across this new HDLoader that had a V3.8B thingy on it and it stated that it could do Dual-Layer games as well. I believe Dual-Layer games were a problem since I saw a ton about how to install God of War etc.

My question is which one is worth getting. The modified HDLoader or this new V3.8B?

there was only 1 commerical version of hd loader released (hdloader 1.0). All the other versions are not commerically made, which means you need a modded ps2 to boot them. Hd advance is a newer knock-off version of the program, but i don't know what features it has.
