i just starting to burn dvd's on my own laptop, but i noticed that i don't have enough room on my hard drive to burn most movies. i have about 5.64 GB of free space available. i've alrady used Disk Cleanup and that cleared just a litle bit of space for me. i've already gone through all of my folders and deleted anything that i don't use. any help would be appreciated.

Thanxs

You could use AnyDVD running behind DVD Shrink/Recode ripping directly to HDD creating a file that is about 4.3 gigs and then burn with your favorite burning program.

please remove your email address as it is against forum rules and spammers would love to get ahold of it.

http://www.slysoft.com - download 21 day trial of AnyDVD here.

AnyDVD runs in the background stripping protection as DVD Shrink rips the disc. Insert DVD in drive, open DVD Shrink and click Open Disc (quick analysis will take about a minute), click Reauthor, drag or double click the Main Movie (usually title 1) to left side. Open compression tab and remove all audio except AC3 5.1 and any/all subtitles you don't need. Click backup, choose ISO image file as backup target click OK. When encoding is complete open Imgburn and browse to your new ISO image on your HDD, insert blank DVD into your drive and burn.

I suggest you get an external hard drive. 5.64 GB free space probably won't be enough space. I think you may need about 11 GBs. I remember reading that in one of the shrink guides on AD.

You can rip straight from disc while encoding and only come out with a 4.3 gig file easy enough...not the preferred way but it can be done easy enough.
