Help With Wireless Laptop to Ps2

Now I know that this forum is already out here somewhere, But since I'm new I'm having a tough time navigating through the site and I read the other Forum through and through and none of the information on there worked.

Ok so I have my Laptop running wirelessly through a lynksis Router and I bought the cross over cable like the other forum said..Now when I run a connection test on network settings it says the connection attempt was a success, which always nice..

but when I try to play a game (midnight club 2 and midnight club 3) It says that gamespy is unavailable (mc2) and Network error -611 (mc3) My brother is a computer programmer and he is the Network admin we have tried everything and it's to the point where I think my Laptop is a slow bus reject and it some how ended up in my hands..

Can any one help?

I tried to run a network the same way with no success, you can get a router for the ps2, which you plug into its ethernet port, then you connect your ps2 directly to your wireless router, so theres no problem with connectivity.
