I have been using DVD X Copy Xpress for about 3-4 years. I never had any problems originally. I also purchased DVD Clone2, after I started to have issues after Studio 123 went out of business, and problems occurred. I am running DVD Region +CSS Free also when I run Xpress and Clone. Recently, I have had many problems. I would go through the complete process without errors, but the DVD would freeze up in the middle or end of movie during playback. Also, sometimes the whole movie will copy and burn completely, but when I try to watch the copy, it says nothing is on the DVD. This is really frustrating. I thought maybe it was the media I was using, but I purchased all types and brands of new media (disks) to no avail.

Thinking it must be a software or hardware problem, I purchased DVD neXt copy last week, along with a new external Sony burner that burns all DVD formats, and I still have the same problems. Also, the new software reads and copies the movies really fast, but it takes 2 hours to burn. I contacted their support, but I really do not get any help.

Can someone please give me some ideas? I?ve tried disabling anti-virus, MSN Messenger, etc. I ran a scan disk, disk defragmenter, virus scan, spyware scan, Ad-Aware, but problems still persists.

The original burner is a Philips DVD+RW. The new external is a Sony DVD+/R, DVD+/RW, DVR, dual layer, dual sided.

I am running Windows XP, service pack 2, Pentium 4, 1.8 GHz, 256 MB RAM.

I appreciate all feedback.

Ryan

Make sure the drives are in DMA mode.

Do the below to find out....

START/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM/HARDWARE TAB/DEVICE MANAGER

Now go down the list till you see IDE Contorlers. Branch the tree down and look at each channel and make sure they are in DMA mode (NOT PIO). If 1 is in PIO mode then right click and uninstall the channel and then rebbot windows. Windows then should put it into DMA mode.

AnyDVD is linked with CloneDVD, correct? It is the same thing as the DVD Region + CSS Free as I recall.
