Nero "nCannot connect TRF" error

DVD Shrink works great until the end. I get the error message that using Nero API version 6.6.1.6 that the falure occured as follows: #4 NEROAPI 7 File Burned.cpp, Line 3095
Error:\nCannot connect TRF. Any idea what the problem is and how to solve it. On this computer my very old copy of Nero works well with DVD Shrink. Tom

Uninstall version 6.6.1.6 if you want to burn directly with Nero from DVD Shrink. That version won't work with DVD Shrink. Run the Nero 6 Clean Tool and then install version 6.6.0.18.

I prefer ImgBurn over Nero for burning and there is a version of DVD Shrink that will burn directly with ImgBurn:

Thanks. Seems like a plan. Found my old version of Nero that came with an old scanner. That version I know works. P.S. Perhaps you have an idea. Explorer says new DVD-R's are full and cannot read volume. Bought new DVD external. Explorer still says new media is full and does not read volume. Has to be Windows but everone simply says to reinstall WindowsXP Home Ed. I cannot believe that is the sole answer. Microsoft Knowledgebase no help.

Windows can't read and recognize blank DVD media since there is no native support for doing so. It is usually identified as a CD since there is native support for those. In My Computer it'll probably say 0 bytes free, 0 bytes on disk or Free space: 0 bytes, Total size: 0 bytes. Is this what you're referring to? If so, that's normal. As long as 3rd party DVD authoring software recognizes and picks up the blank DVD, you are good to go.

Well perhaps that part is normal and what you say makes complete sense Perhaps I just noticed it for the first time by using explorer to attempt to read its properties. I just tried Nero to copy files to the DVD and it worked fine. You are right. I'll have to trouble shoot my original problem some more, and that is: DVD Shrink using Nero failed and it had never failed before. Thanks. These Forums answer a lot more questions that technical support ever thought about answering.

The last version of Nero 6 that worked correctly with DVD Shrink was 6.6.0.18. That is, it is the last version that allows for autoburning with Nero from DVD Shrink. See this thread:

I can't seem to get those Nero links to work tonight.
I'm getting the typical "website down" message...
"Cannot find server or DNS Error"
Those are the links I pass out as well. I hope this is just temporary.
