Hi, I'm new to burning dvds. I am using DVD Shrink and then using the old DVD Decrypter with the iso burner. It has been working ok but on the dvd decypter burner I get the message, " a semaphore period has expired." I don't think I have the wording right but close. Then it says to retry. The retry button works most of the time but occasionally it will not even let me retry. I cosistantly get the message at least 2 times during the burn. the dvd shirnk works great!
Could anyone please help with this problem?

Hello.

It may be a hardware problem with your burner. Here are some things to try.

Use DVD Shrink to output an ISO image file.
Try burning that ISO Image file with ImgBurn.

www.imgburn.com (free)


Use DVD Shrink to output a hard drive folder of video files.
Burn those files with Nero or ImgBurn.

If ImgBurn works with DVD Shrink, you can download a version of DVD Shrink that will autoburn with ImgBurn if you so desire.

Have you tried updating your burner's firmware? Have you switched to a different media? Are you using decent media like Verbatim, Made in Japan labeled Fuji or Sony, or Taiyo Yuden media?

If none of the above works, it may be the case your burner is faulty.
