hey guys, i have a really annoying problem.

okay, i use swap magic 3.6 and slim ps2 with magic keys.

when i load up the swap magic, the ps2 makes a wierd noise, as if the lense were hitting the disc. but when i play real games such as need for speed most wanted, the game doesn't click at all.

this only the first wierd part.

second, it would load, but when i go to the main menu, and load program, the ps2 acts like it can't read the disc.

i have only gotten it to work by using alcohol to clean the lese, but the ps2 will only work for a day or two.

i would like a solution with out voiding warranty please:D

also, i use a fat ps2 that has voided warranty already.

i try to load swap magic by unscrewing the case on top of the disc tray and putting it back on. when the ps2 loads, it makes load noises and in the end doesn't load at all. i go into the browser of the ps2 and it says "Disc Read Error" but i play regular games fine!!! help?

Your regular games work perfect.
Backups don't work well.

You didn't mention what your using, but I would say use better DVDR discs.

no the ISO's arent corrupt and they have worked before. but i want swap magic and my ps2 to work ALL THE TIME.

Well, if you gave that info in the first place it would help. BUT, even though the discs worked in the past, doesn't mean that they will work in the future (they could have changed the dye used, you could have a bad batch of discs, etc). I still say try some TY discs.

so it couldn't be the ps2 hardware at all? i still hear wierd noises from my ps2 when i try running swap magic only... not burned games..

i'll take your advice about changing the discs though.

but what about those wierd noises? the swap magic i use works smoothly on my other friend's ps2.

I see now, sorry. Yes, it could be a hardware problem then (laser getting worn out, etc). I had a fat ps2 that all of a sudden stopped reading my swap magic disc (but would read originals fine). I ended up geting a new ps2, and i'm still using the same swap magic disc in my new ps2.
