Um lets say I have a 5.5Gb Mpeg2 file that I wanted to burn on 1 DVD+r
What software can I use?

Ulead VideoStudio is just causing me way too much trouble. =(

After I had cut out the commercials on the movie I had recorded with my PCTV Deluxe, and were ready to burn it, it said it would only take up 3.7Gb of the disc. Then after using almost 2hours converting the video file, a smal window pops up and says that there werent enough space on the disc. The file turned out to be 5.5Gb

I'm not looking to rip a DVD and then burn it onto a DVD.

I'm recording directly from my TV with my TV card (PCTV Deluxe)

And I want to burn those files (Mpeg2) onto a dvd. or rafther squeze it onto a DVD, since some 120min. files are 5.5gb and I just want to squeze them onto a single DVD-

It's just one single mpeg2 file I want to fit on a DVD. I think the file is close to the 5.5Gb

That would have to be re-encoded so, there are a lot of encoders to choose from thankfully!

You can try this. I have used TMPGEnc Dvd Author on the Movies I have recorded from my tv that was larger than 4.36G , made the ifo an vobs then ran through DVD2One to make the movie just the right size for one disc. Never tried it with DVD Shrink but it should work also.

Actually I just tried that thing you mentioned with using DVDshrink, it worked great -Yay!

My next Question is, is there any quality loss by editing with UleadVideo Studio 7???

At the moment I use Ulead to edit at to make the .VOB files
