I am interesting in FTP for my XBOX, so that i can transfer data across my computer and XBOX. What does a crossover cable look like?
where do i buy them from? are they expensive?

Generally, they look just like normal ethernet cables, but they have yellow insulation. They're also called patch cables. Also, it'll say right on the cable's insulation whether or not it's a patch cable or not.
Any decent computer shop should have them.
Depends how long it is. Shouldn't cost too much, seeing how I got a seven foot cable for $8 almost three years ago.

i have ethernet that connets to my modem i think its a cross over its yellow it says cat.5 varified patch cable..is this a cross over

From the looks of it, you're using the same IP for both your PC and Xbox... If you aren't using DHCP, set the Xbox's static IP to say, 192.168.0.200 or something and try to connect to that.
You should have the same settings on your Xbox as your PC, but the IP addresses should be different.
