SUPER-DUPER DOWNGRADING GUIDE

this is copied straight from the readme. assuming you already have the downdater folder this is what u need to do.
Instructions for the 2.71 user
-------------------------------
1) Copy the files inside MS_ROOT to the root of your memory stick.
2) Wait someone with 1.50 to pass you a folder called DOWNDATER and copy it to the root of your memstick.
3) It is recomended that you have the psp at more than 50% batteery and connected to AC
4) Go to the xmb photo viewer.
At this point will one of the following things:
a) You'll see a full red screen. This indicates that the downdater is doing its job.
Wait for it to finish. When it finish it will crash on purpose. Restart your psp manually
and you'll probably have a 1.50 if nothing went wrong.
b) You don't see the red screen. This indicates that the downdater code has not started
to execute. (even if the memstick blinks(or no), it doesn't matter! if the screen is not red, you can safely restart
the psp at this point).
This happen because of inestability in the tiff.
Don't worry, just restart the psp and keep trying until you reach the red screen of downdate.
The downdater code is NEVER executed partially. It's either executed totally or nothing.
It depends of "luck" but usually the downdater will start to execute in a average of 1/10 times.
Things that may increase the probabilities:
- A fresh formatted memory stick.
- A 32 MB memory stick (and fresh formatted)

ok i think i ran the downgrader... my PSP turned a red screen and the memstick was flashing and now the screen is black and the mem stick is no longer flashing now i restart it right?
edit: wait nvm i waited a lil longer and it turned itself off and when i turned it back on ti was in 1.5 woot

i have the full downdate what i downloaded for psp hacks and now whats tihs thing u have to pass.. i need to be really sure cause its not my psp this one.. ive donde other of 2.5/6 but this exploit is new so i gota comfirm thx

if u got the full version from psp-hacks.com you dont have to get the downdater folder. its already included. they didnt change the readme to say otherwise. but yea it inlcudes all necessary files.

yea and if it dosn't come on after that wait for a while before turning it on or if that dont work im sorry to say its a bricked psp:c

ok now im getting furstrated i put the downdater folder in the root of the mem stick i also put the d.bin file in the root of the mem stick and it still wont work ive tried over 50 times already.

you have to put the tiff into photo. lol it only took 11 tryes for my PSP to get bricked (dont hold back though, i was testing on the wrong mobo)

well i wasnt happy with thinking that i fuc*d up with my downgrade so i updated my 1.50 to 2.71 and tryed exactly what i did the first time only this time IT WORKED a treat so im guessing that the psp musta been faulty but im fuc*n stoked it dident brick my psp if it did i would have been screwd and now i dont feel like such a dic* for bricking in the first place :)

im not sure any body ? and i bricked my the first time i tyred but i think that was because the psp might have been faluty cause i used the same files i used when it brickd on my 1.50 that i upgraded just to try again and it worked sweet as and from what i have read it has workd alot

The screen should go RED not black -.- I'm starting to get the feeling this tut was a 2.5/6 Downgrader copied and modified... But even so, as long as it helps people right :P

Just downgraded, and wanted to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
One note though, since I didn't read the entire thread and don't know for sure I just wanted to bring up one thing. I have a first gen American PSP, and instead of a black screen it was red. Just wanted to say because it freaked me out, but everything else went without a hitch!
