Have AnyDVD enabled and just use shrink. A red Fox head should be in the system tray and right-click to see if it is enabled. before u put the dvd in to copy.

If u are going to try DVDfab u have too disable AnyDVD while using DVDFab cuz they might conflict.
Also here is a guide for DVDFab>VobBlanker
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154
I strongly advise u too use VobBlanker after u use DVDFab, and before shrink, if u follow all the steps in the guide(especially the VobBlanker part) it will work, just use shrink or recode, then burn with whatever u want to use.

The disk likely had strong structural copy protection. Did you run the ripped files through FixVTS or VobBlanker before opening in DVD Shrink. Try Ripit4me. It does nearly everything for you in Wizard mode. Is this still the same disk? Can you post what AnyDVD listed as the protections for the disk?
Edit: added text below
You can also try the AntDVD ripper. Click on the red fox head in the task bar and select Rip Video-DVD to the Hard Disk.... In the next window click the "Remove unreferenced and blank cells" checkbox.

DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter alone cannot deal with disks that have strong structural copy protection. Unless you are very familiar with the processes involved, just use Ripit4me. It was designed for people to just be able to insert a disk and have the programs do most things automatically. Usually AnyDVD by itself is sufficient, but since Flight 93 hasn't been released, there may be protection schemes not yet provided for.
Ripit4me uses an older tried and true technique that to date have worked on every single title. It uses DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink which you already have installed, as well as FixVTS. The big advantage is that it handles stuff for you when you use the Wizard mode. See the links above to Ripit4me or use any of the other guides linked in the posts above.

fkt070, if u read mine and laddyboy's post and followed them you would be watching u backuped dvd by now, sorry if i sound rude, but if u read Laddyboy's last post it explains why u cant just use DVD Shrink, decrypter by themselves for newer movies, with that said, all of these ways work, here are the ways for the last time
1.DVDFab (to rip the movie to ur HDD)
2.VobBlanker (to clean & fix the movie)
3.DVD shrink or Nero Recode (to make the movie fit on SL 4.7g disk)
4.Nero or ImgBurn or dvd decrypter( to burn the movie)
OR
use ripit4me(Wizard Mode) uses DVD decrypter>FixVTS>Shrink or Recode>Burn with what ever (Use the link in LaddyBoy's post)
OR
Use AnyDVD

What 300bowler posted in general, worked for United 93 -- which indeed, has very strong protection, not easily gotten rid of using AnyDVD/DVDShrink/ImgBurn.
A friend used:
1. DVDFab Express Platinum (latest version) to create the Video_TS folders for the Full Movie
2. Then, checked it with VobBlanker (freeware), which didn't find any glitches with our bought copy, but it's good to check with yours anyway.
3. DVD Shrink (freeware), to shrink the full movie into a 4.7G blank DVD (choose Open Files from where either DVDFab or VobBlanker saved the _TS subfolder.
4. Using ImgBurn, then built the .ISO, and burned the .ISO as a full-length movie the backup copy of United 93.
The quality generated with DVDShrink was about 55%, but we chose to backup everything save the foreign language and Visually impaired tracks.
If you choose less menu options, you can get it at a very good conversion rate.
HTH.

I didnt save a screenshot of the United 93 protection from AnyDVD, but i remember they used every trick in the book on this one to prevent copying. Ripit4me has worked on every movie i tried, and on this one i did a test rip with ripit4me, as i have AnyDVD, and its too easy with AnyDVD. :)

I am getting two errors with two different approaches and just wondering if FixVTS will work?
The two errors I am getting are on certain DVDs simply using DVD Shrink I get:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot contin.
Failed to Read D:\
Data error (cyclic rundundancy check)
the second is I use DVD Decrypter to put files on hard drive, which I do successfully, but when I go to DVD Shrink to "Open Files" it doesn't recognize the files and get this error:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot contin.
Failed to open fill "C:\the lion king\video_ts.ifo"
The system cannot find the file spcified.
Can you provide help?

Try using RipIt4Me. You already have DVD_Decrypter and DVD_Shrink, so install FixVTS and then install RipIt4Me.

Are you using the newest "Update" (or rather "Downdate") of DVD Shrink?
If you have downbloaded the "patch" that "allows IMGburn" to burn the DVD - You need to re-install the original version. The Imgburn patch removed the macrovivion removing part of the software.
I have the original and will give it to anyone- It always works, always removes the macrovision, except on certain Sony DVD's which can still be copied if you use Ripit4me along with DVD Shrink.

Well, you need FixVTS along with Ripit4me. You can get FixVTS by clicking on the "DOWNLOAD" bar in Ripit4me. There are several good updated links for Shrink, Decrypter and FixVTS- Click FixVTS and download the zip file right intot he same folder where ripit4me is.
There are two reasons why you are still getting an error: You either did not run FixVTS or you have one of the bogus versions of DVD Shrink.
There is also a prograsm called DVD43 - "DVD For Free" - All it does is sit there and take off the encryptions while you watch. Same as DVD Region + CSS Free, but it is simpler. Sometimes Region + CSS Free ruins your UDMA capability.
If you download FixVTS, you have to tell Ripit4me where you extracted it. Then, when you make a backup of your moovie, it will automatically start after Ripit4me is through with it. Then it will fix the VTS of the DVD and Shrink will then be able to deal with the disk. You said:
there was an error processing "VTS_01_5.VOB" - This is a new trick they are doing, they are putting VOB files in the cell menu that don;t exist. Chances are you will nto see a "VTS_01_5.VOB" on thr original disk. So, FTXVTS takes that reference out of the main VIDEO_TS.IFO and VOB files.
Get FixVTS and try it again, if you still have trouble let me know exactly what version of Shrink you are using, the version number, and the file size of the Shrink executable: It should be exactly 584 Kilobytes. Also you can right-click on it and get the properties, and you can tell in there if it has been altered as well.
All I know is that I asked if there was a fix for DVD Shrink that made allowances for ImgBurn - Someone pointed me to a so-called "Fix" - It did nto have the uVision removal taken out, but it certainly did not like uVision, the program crashed right when the film started being processed (Normally, at 12% in the Shrink Progress bar).
I changed back to the regular Shrink, I would rather burn in DVD Decrypter than have a bogus copy of DVD Shrink crash when it starts processing protection.
