Hi there, I have a digital camcorder and a ton of movie files and am looking to burn them to a dvd. However I know that dvd players cannot play MPEG-4, and have been looking for quite some time for a converter to make them MPEG-2. I'm cheap, and have found 2 freeware programs but both of them result in a zoomed in picture where you can only see the top left quarter of the shot. Is there any free programs out there that can help me get my mp4's onto dvd?

SUPER and MediaCoder, but they both produce the zoomed in video. I used a free trial of another program to see if all programs do this, I believe it was Xilisoft, and it converted the first 30% only as it's trial offer. However that 30% showed the entire image. If you would like, I could upload one of the MP4 for someone to take a look at?

i use vso DivXtoDVD which is freeware available under the software tab on this site under DVD-R tools. it will not do menus or anything fancy, but converts well enough for what i use it for.

It says that works for AVI to dvd... it supports mp4 to dvd?
edit: I tested it and yes it worked great, unfortunately it leaves a nasty watermark in the center of the video. And 35 (euros is it?) is a little steep... anything else that might work?

VSO DivXtoDVD is freeware available on the afterdawn software page under DVD-R tools. it's the last program on the last page. AVI to dvd is a great program, but you are correct, it costs money. VSO is free and works very well.

Thanks, I was confused by this websites automatic linking system. When I saw the link in your post I assumed you had placed it, however after looking at my own posts I figured it out. Thanks for your patience, it worked great :).
