Alrighty. Can someone explain why when I burn a DVD onto a brand new DVD-R, it won't work on any other DVD player but my computer?
For the record, the DVD-R brand name is Verbatim 4.7 GB 120 minute 16x certified. The movie is only 101 minutes long, and it CAN fit on the DVD. It just... Well, it skips every chance it gets when in a real DVD player. It even somehow skipped form the main menu into the movie, and skipped from one scene to the next. Why meeee?

Well players can be picky. You're using good media so let's check what speed you burned them at.
How about the burner - frimware up to date?
I take it no playback problems in the pc at all?

No playback problems in the PC whatsoever. I have no idea what you mean by firmware, but I used CloneDVD- the newest one, I'm sure. But I'm only using the 14 day trial.

Here's how you edit - look to the right and you'll see what looks like a pencil & paper. Click on that to edit :)
Now for the rest - go to the last screen in CloneDVD it will list your drive and firmware (next to rev.) In this pic the firmware is 1.02.
Post back the make, model & firmware version.
How about the speed you burned them at?

I only have CloneDVD, not CloneDVD2. =O As for that screen and 'last page', I have no idea how you got to those.
I'm sorry for the trouble. I'm just trying to get this right. ._.

No problem :)
Probably easiest just pop a disc back in the drive and 'pretend' to copy it to get to this screen. It's the 3rd screen (after opening CloneDVD) where you click 'go' to burn the disc.
If you are running XP sp2 we can also find the info there too.
My guess is you burned at 16x - if that's the case drop it down to 8x.
You can change this next to 'preferred speed'.

Alright, I tried copying, and it did. Then all it did was say 'Put in blank disc and press okay'.
I kno wwhat your talking about, I just can't get to it! D=
EDIT:// I just realized something. When I rip for the first time after opening CloneDVD, the V. Quality is 50%. After doing it once, it goes down to 47% and won't let me rip again unless I exit and reopen CloneDVD, bringing it back to 50%. Would that have anything to do with the skipping?

Ok before you click 'go' - write that info and change the burn speed to 8x or lower.
Don't think that would have anything to do with the skipping. Are you doing the full movie? May have unchecked some extra audios or special features ( I do all the time to keep the compression down).
Once Clone is down than click the 'restart' button to do the next one.

Dunh on me - you also get this info in CloneDVD picking 'write existing data' Click on that and it's the 1st screen :)
You're using CloneDVD from slysoft right?

If you have AnyDVD you can rip the main movie with Dvdshrink and burn with Dvddecrypter it's a easy start

Wait, could you please give in detail how I can do what rbrock just said? I have both programs, and I already ripped the movie with shrink. Do I need to make a 'Backup!'? What after that?

Did you try the lower burn speed & see if that helped?
Do other backups play fine on the dvd players besides the verbs?
You can use Decrypter to burn w/ Shrink. In shrink when you click back up just pick 'iso and burn w/ decrypter'. 1st just open decrypter - go to mode>iso pick write. Select your burner and set your burn speed. Close decrypter. Shrink will open again when time to burn.

That is 3 programs AnyDVD runs in the background to remove the blocks Dvdshrink shrinks the movie so you burn it to a 4.7 disc (single layer) and Dvddecrypter works with Shrink burns it to the disc if you read the guides with the programs that you have you can see if you have the tools you need the giudes go into detail

How do I select DVD burner and burner speed on Decrypter now? o_O Or is that write speed? o_O If so, what should it be set to?

What the make & model of the drive? Decrypter will also list this.
Need to see what the drive can do.

Yes just close decrypter & shrink will open when needed to burn. Decrypter like Shrink will keep your last setting. Just pick the 'iso & burn w/ decrypter' option in Shrink under 'select back up target'
Model # is missing but looks like this LG is an oem drive that came w/ your pc. So you might need to visit the pc manufacturers site and see if they have any.

Well if you needed us to help with a firmware update very useful. (also model # is common to that drive). Not a security thing :)
But for this one the pc manufacturer would also be helpful.

It's a Compaq. And alas, I've gotten to the burning stage in DVDDecrypter, and it's too big. =O Wasn't DVDShrink supposed to... well, shrink it?

Yep it was suppoed to Shrink it.
So here's some tips;
Uncheck all the unnecessary audios like the foreign ones, directory commentary.
Go to (in shrink) File>preferences. Pick custom and type in 4360.
Is it only these verbs that don't play in the dvd players?

Also if this drives max burn speed is 8x I try burning at 4x. But I need the model # to know what this drive can do.

Ahhh. Well, they're the only ones I have xD And the number is 4166B. Even though I took all the subtitles off, other than English, I think its the SAME SIZE =O
Image size: 2,312,656 sectors
Disc Size: 2,297,904 sectors
Would I like to continue anyway? =O And WTH is a sector?
