So, I was playing my backup of Dirge of Cerberus, when I accidentaly dislocated the tray from the laser raising/lowering mechanism. No big deal, I have opened and fixed that many of times. This time, I accidentaly pulled out the cable that connects the reset/open buttons to the PS2, so I needed to fix that. I couldnt get it in there with just the top off, so I took off the bottom, put it in, then I put the bottom back on. I had a little diffaculty getting the fan area to click in to place, but with a little more pressure, it went just fine. The reset/open button worked just fine. I did the usual, and this time everything worked, except for one thing: now there was no audio or video. I changed cables but still nothing. When I turn it on, the screen goes from static to black, but nothing comes on. No sound, no video. WTF did I do to it?

Does it do any thing else? Do the lights on the buttons work properly? Does the disc spin? Does the fan spin? What version Ps2 do you have? How is it modded?

Yes everything else was working, I have not modded my ps2, and it is a 5000 series. I figured it out anyway, so note this. While fiddling around in there my controller/memory card port came loose, cuz it just hangs there if you take off the bottom, and it kept falling. If that is not fully plugged in, you will not see anything on the screen. I dont know why it is like that, but it is. The connection is easy to re-connect as well, so no biggie. Thanks though.
