Hello,
I was trying to burn Howl's Moving Castle. The Decrypter worked fine, but when i go to the DVD Shrink and try to open the files from the VIDEO_TS folder, this is what I get:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid data in file "C:/Documents and Settings/user/Desktop/ALL DVD WORK/Howl's Moving Castle_RIPPED\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1."VOB"
Anyone know what this means and how I can fix it? Any help is much appreciated, thanks for your time.
It looks like DVD Decrypter may have not removed all copy protection placed on the disk or in doing so may have changed the files video structure causing a problem with shrink when attempting to open them.
You could (if it's a video structure problem):
Download a free app called fixvts, FixVTS is a very tiny tool that allows you to adjust your DVD files into better DVD compliance, so they can be opened in DVDShrink. Process the files thru this app and then retry opening using shrink.
If still no luck using FixVTS, it could be a copy protection issue. I would suggest downloading/installing and using a very good free ripper/decrypter called DVDFab decrypter. Use DVDFab to rip the video files to your HDD, once DVDFab is done, open the files it created using shrink and proceed as usual.
If all of the above suggestions fail, try using AnyDVD, it's a driver that runs in the backround to help shrink get the job done. It comes with a 21 day free trial before you have to buy it to continue using it. Just install it and use shrink as usual.
Or use RipIt4Me which will incorporate PSL file into Decrypter to break the encryption and use FixVTS to clean and Shrink to process. Use the program in 1click mode and all will be done automatically. You can dl FixVTS from the links.
